And Now A Proper Morning Post [Mar. 20th, 2009|07:51 am]

It's good to get the crankiness out first thing, you know? Be happy I've dropped the pithy-metaphor I had in mind for that, because it was icky.

It's FRIDAY! A staff development day at school, so the girls are home. I need to do massive amounts of catch up and have only two phone calls, so that's good news. Tim's got a two-day construction gig, huzzah!

I am actively surprised by how much the stress test took out of me yesterday. After I let everyone know that I'd lived through the test (Emmy laughs, but there was that tiny little sliver of fear that I'd code out on the treadmill) I laid down to rest...and woke up much, much later. Puttered, and laid down again, and here we are in the morning.

Elisa wrote a lovely review of ISP http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/545834.html

Read Gorgeous Lies and liked it, rather. It's oddly structured, a book about the patriarch of a large, blended family dying. You forget sometimes, that divorce was controversial, that there was so much angst about it, about how the children would fare in disrupted homes -- all those issues still exist, of course, but we're more matter of fact about it now. It's lost its novelty; whereas Gorgeous Lies is set when it was still novel. I like reading about magnificently eccentric families, it makes me feel better about my own decidedly un-normal bunch.

Ok, I need to get my butt to work. I really don't want to, but it's past time. If anyone has some spare motivation, send it my way: I could surely use it.

there was that tiny little sliver of fear that I'd code out on the treadmill silly bunny. Not likely, and entirely fixable if you did. YOU ARE NOT DYING.

Now, as for how much it'll cost ya....
